I'm watching you” – printed on a T-shirt at the beginning – is part of the STRANGER EYES program, which reflects in many ways on the dynamics of seeing and being seen (which are also inherent in cinema). After the two-year-old daughter of a young couple disappears without a trace from the playground, the parents despair over the unsuccessful search for her. When they receive anonymous DVDs showing private scenes secretly filmed before and after the child's disappearance, the police install a surveillance camera in front of their apartment. Soon, their neighbor Wu (Lee Kang-sheng) comes under suspicion. STRANGER EYES explores voyeurism, self-promotion, surveillance culture, and the ubiquity of cameras in the digital age, taking the form of a thriller, whose narrative perspective constantly changes, and becoming a study of urban isolation.
